Production errors often begin before cutting. A changed dimension, an unrecorded profile substitution or an outdated quote can reach purchasing unnoticed.
Maintain one source of truth
Identify the approved proposal and keep its dimensions, configuration, color and components together. Avoid relying on messages or similarly named files.
Make the handoff explicit
Check critical items and record who validated them before purchasing. A short checklist is more reliable than expecting someone to remember every detail.
Treat changes as changes
If the customer or production team changes something, update the version and flag cost and schedule impacts. Never silently overwrite an approved decision.
